How to Have Your Own Elephant Eames on Cardboard

I’ve seen that this morning they shared on the blog of x4duros a very interesting work of La Maison de Loulou: a family of Eames elephant trimmed in black construction paper and accompanied by a guirnada of crosses also black. He remembered having seen something similar, so I have started to investigate a little, and Yes, the idea is based on a free template offering long Vitra, shop that you edit designs, so you can have your own version of the legendary Chair at home.

As you know the Chair the Eames elephant is one of the icons of the design. Planned nothing less than in 1945 became ever manufactured in series, in fact only made two prototypes, of which today only remains one, owned by the family.

Apparently the American marriage felt fascination with the elephants. In the photographic work of Charles on culture, india or the world of the circus appear repeatedly illustrations of these animals. Elephant Chair was designed, on the one hand, that children played with it and, on the other hand, as a decorative sculptural element.

We are not going to reach with our version in cardboard, But yes we can customize it to our taste, printing it in the color that we like to complement our table or our shelf. What you think about the idea?
