The Palazzo Montecasino

The Westcliff

InterContinental Sandton Towers

This skyscraper, located in Sandton, South Africa’s economic center, is directly connected to the huge Sandton City Shopping Center and the Sandton Convention Center (the largest in the country). The modern hotel offers a permanently manned reception, the possibility of pre-booking for tour groups, a business center, a fitness and wellness center, restaurants / bar / lounge, hairdressing salon, airline service and car rental. Impressive, if somewhat exaggerated, is the huge waterfall in front of green marble in the entrance hall, which is supposed to convey a relaxed atmosphere. The lobby is adorned with Greek frieze and high vaults, the rooms with granite, marble and maple wood to create a “harmonious mixture of Art Deco and ethnic style elements”. TheTowers has non-smoking floors and two handicapped accessible rooms. The Ferns restaurant offers African cuisine, and the Vilamoura nightclub serves Portuguese dishes and seafood. Guests can choose to relax with an aperitif in the Towers Bar against a spectacular backdrop or in the Gazebo Bar with its African decor.

The Quatermain

Protea

Sunnyside Park Hotel

Backpackers´ Ritz

This well located hostel has long had the best reputation among backpackers. The shopping center Hyde Park Corner Mall is within walking distance. The old but spacious house with a beautiful view of the northern outskirts of the city has clean rooms with many shared bathrooms, a common room with TV and internet connection, a pretty garden with swimming pool and some single rooms. The hostel organizes its own half and full day tours throughout Johannesburg as well as transports to the airport. Those with a limited budget can stay the cheapest here. The offer also includes breakfast and a course menu for dinner.
