Although the airport is not far, the gardens and pool give an impression of tranquility. The Palazzo Montecasino
This extravagant hotel is part of the FourwaysGame, leisure, entertainment and shopping complex just 30 minutes from OR Tambo International Airport and very close to the Sandton Convention Center, one of South Africa’s premier conference centers. Designed in the Tuscan style, the hotel tries to look like an Italian palace and looks deceptively real. The Westcliff
The Westcliff claims to be Johannesburg’s most luxurious hotel – and with unique service, small private patios, and Johannesburg’s best setting for sunsets and moonrises, it probably is. InterContinental Sandton Towers
This skyscraper, located in Sandton, South Africa’s economic center, is directly connected to the huge Sandton City Shopping Center and the Sandton Convention Center (the largest in the country). The modern hotel offers a permanently manned reception, the possibility of pre-booking for tour groups, a business center, a fitness and wellness center, restaurants / bar / lounge, hairdressing salon, airline service and car rental. Impressive, if somewhat exaggerated, is the huge waterfall in front of green marble in the entrance hall, which is supposed to convey a relaxed atmosphere. The lobby is adorned with Greek frieze and high vaults, the rooms with granite, marble and maple wood to create a “harmonious mixture of Art Deco and ethnic style elements”. The Quatermain

Not far from the M1 expressway and 20 minutes from OR Tambo International Airport, this grand, Victorian-style hotel has hosted celebrities like Miss Universe and Zulu king Goodwill Zwelithini. It was designed to match the adjacent Gold Reef City complex and opened in 2000. Both the tourist and the entrepreneur and conference market were considered when decorating the 74 luxurious and old-fashioned rooms. In the neighboring Gold Reef City, modern conference rooms such as the exclusive 30-person President’s Room, the 500-person Platinum Room or even a 1400-person arena are available. Backpackers´ Ritz
This well located hostel has long had the best reputation among backpackers. The shopping center Hyde Park Corner Mall is within walking distance. The old but spacious house with a beautiful view of the northern outskirts of the city has clean rooms with many shared bathrooms, a common room with TV and internet connection, a pretty garden with swimming pool and some single rooms. The hostel organizes its own half and full day tours throughout Johannesburg as well as transports to the airport. Those with a limited budget can stay the cheapest here. The offer also includes breakfast and a course menu for dinner.

Although this hotel definitely deserves the title “inexpensive”, it is not “cheap” – the ultra-modern building offers guests air-conditioned rooms, desks with internet access, a swimming pool and secure parking. Although the rooms are relatively small, you can get to the Eastgateamazingly much for his money. By car, it takes only 15 minutes to OR Tambo International Airport and only a ten-minute walk to the Eastgate shopping and entertainment center. The N12 / R24 motorways also start nearby, which makes trips to Sandton, Pretoria, Durban and the Kruger National Park easy.
