According to Ehistorylib, San Angelo is located in the Concho Valley, a region of West Texas between San Antonio and El Paso. The city enjoys an arid climate with warm temperatures year-round. Summers are hot with average highs in the upper 90s and winters are mild with average lows in the lower 40s.

San Angelo was first founded as a frontier military post in 1867 by the United States Army. It served as a strategic point to protect settlers from Indian raids, and it soon developed into a ranching center. During the twentieth century, San Angelo experienced economic growth due to oil production and the establishment of manufacturing plants. Today, San Angelo is known for its healthy economy based on agriculture, healthcare, education, retail trade, and tourism.
