Site Helps You Find the Perfect Plant for the Garden

Plan a garden or even find the perfect plan for your home or project can be more complicated than you think.

Several factors are important in this choice, as the ambient temperature, sun exposure, soil and, of course, the expectations of the landscape. Each plant requires a different condition, then it must also be taken into account in deciding if this is the best kind for your idea.

To solve this problem that bothers even the most expert architects, know the search site PlantSelectr.com, created by Sven Henrik Karlsson.

The PlantSelectr is a simple online platform offering tools so that the user can find the perfect plants for your project or your home.

Basically, on the site there are 15 possible configurations in which will be based on your selection, and you who chooses which one to use. These settings make it easy to search, making the total plant catalog is filtered and the user to find what you want.

These settings include topics such as key factors for the survival of the plant – soil conditions, range of temperature, sun exposure, the desired type of plant and other variations.

Other tools already focus on factors that influence the design – the colors of flowers and fruits, size or commercial availability.

Another way to find a type of plant is in the area of research, where you can enter the common name (in English) or scientific.

To facilitate and further simplify for the user, next to each option there is an icon with an “i” information. Hovering the mouse over it, you will see a brief explanation of the criteria. This resolves any doubts about some settings that can be more technical.

By filtering and set the type of plant you are looking for, the platform will show you the options that came with photos and their common and scientific names. You can click on each one and obtain information directly from the base of the Wikipedia, as description, cultivation, use, growth and more.

If the plant you are looking for is not available on the platform, the creator of the site provides a link to your email so you can contact him and later add the forgotten species.

Unfortunately the online tool is in English, as well as some of their measures and scales. What is called “hardiness zone” or resistance zone, based on the above USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) and runs with minimum mean winter temperature. For projects located outside the USDA area, just know this data to determine the correspondence in the scale, the extreme 0-12.

Another detail is that the height of the plants are informed with the “foot” as a measure unit. To translate their use, convert the measure as their country (meters, in the case of Brazil) online converters.
